The website of OS Co., Ltd. is now live. We are based in Katsushika, Tokyo, and we take on restoration (genjo-kaifuku) and interior works — from rental homes through to offices and shops.
On the site you will find the works we can take on, how we think about pricing, and information about the company. The chat at the bottom right of the page is open around the clock if you would like to talk to us.
About OS Notes
Since we have the space, we would like this to be somewhere we write not only case studies and announcements, but also what this company thinks, and how it thinks about it.
While we were building the site, there were a few things we went back and forth on.
- Why every site in our trade seems to line up the same kind of illustrations
- Whether to publish a price list along the lines of “wallpaper replacement, ¥XX per sqm”
- Whether it is right to make chat, rather than the phone, the way in for enquiries
None of these has a settled right answer. We will carry on writing down the conclusions we reached in our own way, and the reasons behind them. We hope they give something to go on — for others in the trade weighing up the same questions, and for property management companies and owners trying to decide which contractor to use.
What we plan to publish
- Records of the jobs we have actually done (with before-and-after photos)
- Things that are useful in day-to-day restoration work (who pays for what, how to read the substrate, how to put a schedule together, and so on)
